Welcome to Litchfield Community Schools

Dear Litchfield Families and Community,

It is an honor to serve as Superintendent of Litchfield Community Schools. I have worked in public education since 1994 as a teacher, administrator, at-risk counselor, career preparation coordinator, and coach. Each of those roles has shaped the way I lead and strengthened my belief that students are most successful when they are known, supported, challenged, and connected to caring adults. My perspective is also shaped by my family. I have been married since 2000 and am the proud mom of two adult children—one an educator and one a nurse.

At Litchfield, our work begins with students. Academic achievement is important, but our responsibility goes beyond grades and test scores. We want students to leave us prepared for college, careers, skilled trades, military service, or whatever path they choose, with the confidence, responsibility, resilience, and skills needed to be successful.

Just as important is the culture we create. I want Litchfield to be a place where students know they belong, where they are seen and valued, and where high expectations are paired with encouragement and support. We want our schools to be safe, welcoming places where kindness and respect are expected, mistakes become opportunities to learn, and students have meaningful ways to discover their strengths.

Our families are essential partners in this work. We may not always agree on every issue, but we should always be able to communicate respectfully, listen to one another, and remain focused on what is best for students. The culture we want for our children is built through the everyday actions of the adults around them.

One of Litchfield's greatest strengths is our size. We have the opportunity to know our students personally, build meaningful relationships with families, and respond to individual needs in ways that larger districts often cannot. We should use that strength intentionally.

My commitment is to continue building a district centered on service, collaboration, engagement, connection, advocacy, and impact. Above all, I want every student who attends Litchfield Community Schools to know that they matter here, that someone believes in them, and that their future is worth investing in.
